Merry Christmas ... Good Christian Friends Rejoice!! Our Advent waiting concludes as we light the white candle - the Christ candle. It’s Christmas! The One promised to us, Jesus Christ, Saviour of All, God with us, takes on human flesh in the form of an infant child. And this is hope, peace, joy and love, completely and utterly fulfilled. Our celebration this Christmas is in line with our lives, staying safe and staying home. And as we scramble toward ‘grey’ zone in the province, it is important to do all we are called upon to do, so that all may stay healthy. We hold all who are affected by COVID 19 in our prayers and love. And Christmas Eve for St David goes virtual! Thanks be to God for the support and work of our people here at St David to make this happen. I don’t want to thank everyone here - yet ... I want you all to just enjoy and be surprised by who you will see, so there is no order of service as per usual. Our Christmas Eve Service is a blend of our traditional worship and Advent cafe ... so thanks everyone who answered the call to do your part! Especially we give thanks to Ethan Hannah ... the programs he’s needed to learn to pull off our service would make your head spin. Ethan’s done recording, all of the editing and polishing of this service. And a blessed thanks to Brent Mayhew who pulled double duty not only playing but doing a big part of recording as well! This Christmas Eve service is a culmination of time and talents, gifts of God’s people, for the people of God ... thanks be to God! So this Christmas Eve, whether you dress up in your Christmas best finery or worship in your Christmas pj’s ... get comfortable, prepare some refreshments, light the Christ candle and don’t forget an extra candle for the end of the service! May the gift of the Christ child, truly be real for you this year. As God enters once again into our world, as broken, pandemic-filled and isolating as it is ... this birth will continue to change the world and us. Good news of great joy indeed! Merry Christmas from my family to all whom you love! Pastor Lori + Jen ... and Luna
PS if you’re able to join me on Zoom, 8pm December 24 - The Eggnog Edition. Merry Christmas ...
