This Thanksgiving Sunday our Astoria wings of hope miscarriage grief boxes were blessed and are ready to be received by the arms that need them most. Inside each box is a handmade small blanket, a hat and a set of wings as well as a journal and a card for grief counseling.
October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month and these boxes were created to give mothers and fathers something to hold when their arms are empty at any stage of pregnancy.
Some of these boxes will
be making their way to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital, the Pregnancy Resource Centre and the Orillia Midwives. However we have many more to give to people in our community. Please message
Erica Duffy if you feel one of these boxes would bring you or someone you know comfort.
If you have talent in crocheting or knitting and would like to get involved with Astorias wings of hope please reach out!
May the peace of God be with any family grieving the loss of a pregnancy.
